Physical Oceanography

Graduate education at Scripps is done through the SIO Graduate Department of the University of California at San Diego. In 1995, the National Research Council ranked Scripps first in faculty quality among oceanography programs nationwide.

Other curricular groups are Applied Ocean Science, Biological Oceanography, Climate Sciences, Geological Sciences, Geophysics, Marine Biology, and Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry. Interdisciplinary studies are encouraged.
