Directions

Unless noted otherwise, the seminar venue is room 101 in Nierenberg Hall, Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The physical address of Nierenberg Hall is:

Nierenberg Hall is situated adjacent to La Jolla Shores Drive between its intersections with Downwind Way and Shellback Way. The most conspicuous landmark is a suspension bridge for pedestrians across La Jolla Shores Drive. Nierenberg Hall is next to this bridge, as shown on the photo below.

Room 101 is on the lowest floor, approximately at the center of the building, and faces the ocean. Coming from the pedestrian bridge, walk uphill and left towards Nierenberg Hall.

Shuttle Bus

The university operates a shuttle bus between the main campus and SIO, which will stop at Nierenberg Hall upon request. See their web pages for a schedule.

Public Transportation

Bus line 30 of San Diego's public transportation services passes by SIO and has a stop in front of Nierenberg Hall.

Parking

UCSD parking lot P014 in front of Nierenberg Hall requires university decals 24/7, but has a limited number of metered parking spots for visitors. It is also possible to park along La Jolla Shores Drive near (especially uphill of) Nierenberg Hall.
