Station of the day for 2/6/06 is Station 153. This was my watch's only station of the day because we just completed our intensive XCTD survey of the Subantarctic Front. It would have earned station of the day honors on its own right because the Rosette came up covered in orange gunk. I walked into the rosette hanger and was just about to comment that this station smelled like the sea, when Scott pointed out the orange eggs/some sort of biology that was smeared on a few of the bottles. Scott slide his finger along the Rosette to pick up a good goob of orange and then enjoyed flinging it on the wall. It was sticky stuff. Today was pretty foggy. Occasionally, when we came out of the thick patches, we could see the sun's outline.
