Station 161 was the best station of 2/9/2006 because it took 5 hours 40 minutes. Most of our night stations look like this; an illuminated deck with dark stretching away. The small engine broke during the night. The vibration and slamming due to the waves caused it to break a gasket. We limped to the next station on one engine; it took 7 hours instead of the usual 3.5. During the steam some scaffolding in the rear hanger fell on the XCTD launcher and broke part of it. We swaped out the broken piece for one from the ship's launcher. The cast was really slow; we never got up to 60 meters/minute. On the way up we had to stop the winch for 45 minutes for reparis. The extreme tensions had sheared off an aging bolt. They spent nearly an hour on more repairs after the cast. The cable is extruding grease, which is dripping on the floor and occasionally on the rosette.
