A penguin entertained us on this station. Adam called down from the bridge over the squawkbox. The lab pretty much cleared out as most everyone wanted to see it. I was a little wary after last time when some of the crew had tried to lure us outside by throwing a fake penguin into the ocean. We all walked out of the starboard side and started scanning for it. It took us a while to find it. We spotted it because we heard it squawking. He was a noisy little fellow. Eventually the Captain and most of the mates came out to see it is well as some of the engineers and crew. Even Lorna came out to see this one. She made the fake penguin last time. He swam around looking at us and squawking for about 5 minutes, and then was gone. We named him Roger.
Kyle, an oiler, did some metalwork after the station. It was amusing to watch him walk outside carrying the piece of metal, clamp it down, and then start grinding away as the southern ocean rolled past behind.
