This was an ugly station. We finally finished it on the fourth attempt. The CTD kept generating errors, at which point we would stop the cast, bring it up, and let Scott try fixing something else. He worked on it for nearly 15 hours. After the first cast failed, he tried reterminating and replaced the sliprings on the winch. After that he took the CTD out of the rosette and replaced all of the CTD connections. He checked all of the connections on the ship. Again, no improvement. He checked the ship connections again and found that the cable from the winch to the lab wasn't behaving quite right. The ship replaced the cable, and we haven't had any problems since.
