I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Physical Oceanography Research Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography working with Russ Davis. My graduate work was at the University of Alberta in Applied Mathematics, working with Bruce Sutherland. Don't let that picture fool you: it's not all surfing and sun out in San Diego. But you have to taunt when you can (see temperatures below).

My research interests mainly involve turbulence and internal waves. I have used laboratory experiments, numerical simulations, and upper ocean mixed layer data in order to investigate the interactions between a turbulent region and a stably stratified region.
